Anything Happening?
Not
much happening BUT were still quite busy.
Now that the Child's have left the mission the Bohn’s have taken it upon themselves to take us (the single sisters) out on outings.
We were able to go to the Getty Villa. This man had so much money he
didn’t know what to do with it. He also had so many artifacts that he built
this museum to put them all in.
We are still enjoying the people we work with at the YMCA every Thursday morning.
Our funny man who speaks very little English but is loving and kind. He also loves to sing to us.
A cool vehicle in the garage across the street from us.
So Sister Snyder was so sad because she lost her name tag Thursday as we worked at the YMCA.
The next day Avi texted Sister Snyder and asked if she was marking her territory because as you drove out of the garage guess what was sitting there?
Loved this! Someone from Idaho (license plate says so) came to attend the temple.
Another fun sight when I was out walking one morning, I found a
few of these on the sidewalk.
Sure, enough they were right people do just drop and sleep anywhere on the sidewalk.
We finally finished up the 72-hour kits for the mission.
We also pulled off the luncheon for one of the Zone Conferences.
We keep telling
them we can’t cook, and we surely can’t do math. Instead of being short of food
we had so, so much left.
With the left-overs Sister Snyder has feed the YMCA crew and all the young single men in our ward, as well as the Seniors around here. We have some happy, happy people now.
This is the last time the President will meet with this Zone. These missionaries had a little farewell planed. They sang and presented them with homemade leis.

We had our mailbox broken into and our washroom. We now have (extra) keys for everything.
One of the people we visit regularly in the Care Center is Don.
Don had been wanting a haircut and shave for months and since he didn’t trust their barber, he was getting pretty shabby. We were able to get a barber in our ward to go out and give him a shave and haircut.
Did I tell you that in hearing about his life in Salt Lake I decided to look up his family and see the people he mentioned that had passed on in his family.
Since he doesn’t have anything to do with his family and he has been stuck in this bed for 3 or 4 years I decided to look his family up on Family Search.
A happy Don after he was able to finally get a shave and haircut.
Upon look on Family Seach for Don's family we found that they had Don listed as dead!!!
Boy! was that fun to show him.
We were able to take him off the deceased list in Family Search. Which put him back on the church records.
Funny story: That put him back on the church records and a set of young sister missionaries went to visit him.
We got THE CALL! Don got a hold of the Care Centers phone and left a message. He was not happy to think that we had stopped coming to visit. I'm sure we will all have a good laugh when we finally show up again next week. We did call the Care Center and told them to tell Don, "Of course we'll be back!"
She fell and after 2 days they found her. At 83 she was able to go through the surgery.
Her sister is here from Salt Lake and we're trying to get all of her belongings out of her second story apartment.
(A big heavy piano being part of it).
We now have (President) Egbert's leaving us and serving in Salt Lake for the church as an attorney.
Quilt made by Sister Asi for the Egberts
The Doxey's
We just had the Doxey’s (Our neighbors) leave us.
She
served on the Relief Society board with Julie Beck and was part of the people
who helped with the book, “Daughters in my Kingdom”.
They have been serving here working with the Consulate. Brother Doxey has been called to serve in Salt Lake helping with the work up there with the Consulates. They don’t have anyone up there.
He is so excited
since he has been doing that here for the past 2 years.
We feel kind of thrilled to know we have good friends and people up in that area.
Sometimes even though its early morning we walk past parks and get a strong whiff of marijuana.
It’s a full day tomorrow with our early work at the YMCA then back to the mission home where Elder Newey has 3 new cars that need to be picked up and brought to the mission home.
Sister Snyder and I volunteered to help along with Elder Bohn.
Later, we made our run across town to deliver the YMCA ward members food who need it. We now have 23 people who are signed up for the food.
Friday morning starts with cleaning of the mission office and then we get out missionaries, "Needs List".
We will then begin helping Sister Newey (Mission Secretary) prepare bags for the next Zone Conference when Newels comes.
Saturday we will check with our 83-year-old sister, in the hospital and her sister, who is here from Salt Lake, to see if we know what we're going to do with all her belonging.
A preacher in giving his sermon said, "I want to take all your whiskey bottles and throw them in the river" The congregation yells, YES!
I want to take all your beer bottles and throw them in the river too, and let's take all your wine bottles and throw them in the river also. Let's throw all of it in the river! The congregation yells, YES!
And then he announced the closing song as, "Let us All Gather at the River"!
Okay, sorry about that just blame Johnny, the temple worker!!!!!
